Dr. Iren Omo-Bare
Associate Professor of Political Science
Dr. Omo-Bare's area of specialty is comparative politics, particularly Africa and Western Europe. He often teaches Politics of Development, which explores developing countries with a focus on why those countries struggle. He also teaches African Government and Politics.
Dr. David Davis
Associate Professor of History
Associate Dean of Arts and Letters
Interem Academic Dean and Vice President
Dr. Davis regularly teaches classes on African history that are informed by his field work in Northern Ghana as well as his research in archaeology, Islam, and Christian missions. Dr. Davis uses these experiences to help students explore the global dynamics that have shaped the cultural heritage of the West.
Dr. Laura Franey
Associate Professor of English
Director of Women's Studies
Dr. Franey specializes in Victorian and eighteenth-century literature, post-colonial studies, and the novel. She regularly teaches classes on post-colonial studies, which include studies of contemporary African literature.

Assistant Professor of Anthropology and Sociology
Dr. Murchison has been doing ethnographic research in Tanzania for the past ten years and specializes in the study of religion, healing, and African cultures. He regularly teaches classes on African cultures, including a class in Swahili, and takes Millsaps students to Tanzania on a regular basis.
Dr. William Storey
Professor of History
Dr. Storey's scholarship and teaching is broadly concerned with world environmental history as well as the history of science, technology, and imperialism. He has worked extensively in South Africa and Mauritius.
