Millsaps
College has developed outstanding computing resources for teaching,
learning and research. From PC labs and their dorm rooms on campus,
students have access to the fiber optic based wired and/or wireless
computer network, supported by enterprise-class servers and network
equipment located in the Academic Complex. Millsaps provides all
users with internet access, electronic mail, personal web pages
and personal network storage space. Computer labs are located in
Sullivan-Harrell Hall and the Millsaps-Wilson Library. Specialized
facilities for multimedia applications are located in Olin Hall
and a personal computer lab for graduate students is located in
Murrah Hall. All computing equipment is connected to the campus
network.
For more information on specific facilities to meet your computing
needs contact the Director of Academic Computing, the Coordinator
for Development in Academic Computing or the Computer Services Help
Desk.
Access to Computer Facilities
Physical access to computer facilities is determined by building
access and/or electronic ID card readers. Card access is provided
through the magnetic strip located on the back of the college identification
cards. If you do not have an ID card, contact the Business Office
of the college. If you are denied access to a public computer lab
during normal operating hours, come by Computer Services to have
your card checked. Computer access is determined by usernames and
passwords. Student account cards with this information are handed
out each semester in the Business Office during registration.
