Are you a middle school student who loves science? Then come and join us for the newly instituted Summer Science Splash Camp, sponsored by the II-VI Foundation, at Millsaps College during summer 2016!
No particular advance science knowledge is required – just be motivated to learn and have fun in the process! This week-long residential summer camp includes science explorations led by Millsaps College faculty and certified science teachers during the day, and plenty of fun activities outside the lab in the late afternoon and evening, supervised by camp counselors who are well-trained Millsaps College students.
The session is designed for only 60 participants (waiting lists will be maintained).
Learning teams of 12 students will work in labs and classrooms with a curriculum prepared in conjunction with Millsaps College faculty. Campers will be engaged in team competitions in daily experiments and in their evening activities.
Only students entering 7th, 8th, or 9th grade in Fall 2016 can apply.
Meals will be provided in the Millsaps College dining hall, offering healthy and tasty food choices. Campers with any dietary needs should report that to the camp director upon registration. Students will live with camp counselors in Millsaps College air-conditioned residence halls.
