Resources for Future Parents:

A Message to Future Parents

Greetings from Millsaps College!

Finding the right college for your son or daughter can be a time-consuming as well as stressful period in not only your child’s life, but yours as well. Whether you are engaging in this process for the very first time, or consider yourself an “old pro” after successfully navigating the college search waters before, I’m confident that we can help.  Because so much is involved between your first college visit and the day you move your student to campus, we’ve included a few links and articles with helpful information in order to assist you. Of course, you may contact us directly if you can't find what you're looking for here. From applying for admission to applying for financial assistance, and everything in between, we are here to answer any questions you may have.

As a private, Methodist-affiliated liberal arts college ranked among the top 100 colleges and universities in America, we offer an experience that is unique among most other institutions with which you might have contact. The degree of personal attention that our 1200 students receive from Millsaps faculty members is one of our strongest attributes.  With a 12:1 student-to-faculty ratio and an average class size of 15, students are the benefactors of the highest level of faculty support and mentoring. Through 33 degree programs, 100 exceptional faculty members, 80 student organizations, and an ingrained belief in teaching students how to think, not what to think, our graduates become engaged in truly meaningful lives.

The best way to determine if Millsaps is the right college for your child is to visit campus.  I recommend visiting at least twice, once as a personal visit and again during a scheduled campus recruitment program.  A personal visit will allow you and your child the opportunity to visit one-on-one with an admission counselor, take a guided tour, meet with a faculty member, and even talk with one of the coaches about our NCAA Division III athletics program. Visiting during one of our fall or spring visit programs will give you a chance to experience campus with hundreds of other prospective students and parents, allowing you to meet other families interested in Millsaps.  For information on visiting the campus individually or during a scheduled program, simply call the Office of Admissions at 601-974-1050, or email us at admissions@millsaps.edu.

We look forward to welcoming you to Millsaps.

Sincerely,

The Office of Admissions
