To
draw is to drag, push, or pull a tool (pencil, pen,
or brush) across a surface to make a mark. A group of
marks may become an image. Drawing is a means of expression
and is therefore a visual language. This language is
personal and may range from being very deliberate and
precise to being very spontaneous and free. One purpose
of the course is to increase the student's skill in
visual expression; another is to gain an insight into
the problems involved in this activity and through personal
experience to increase one's appreciation for the work
of masters in this medium.
