CONWAY, Ark. — The Millsaps Majors completed a three game sweep of SCAC opponent Hendrix College this weeked in Conway, Ark. The final score of the game was 17-3(7 innings – 10 run rule); the Majors recorded 19 hits on the day. This 5th straight win for Millsaps brings their record to 19-6 (10-3). Hendrix falls to 4-18 (1-11).

After a slow start, the Majors put up 5 runs in the top of the third inning and never looked back. A Nick Crawford RBI single got the scoring started as he drove in Derrik Boland. Hunter Abrams later tripled in the inning to bring home Garner Wetzel and Justin Carter. With five runs in the inning for Millsaps, Hendrix attempted to start their own scoring drive in the third, but the Warriors were only able to accumulate three runs in the bottom of the inning.

Throughout the remainder of the game, Millsaps scored consistently, putting up three runs in the fifth, eight in the sixth and one in the seventh to win the game by a score of 17-3.

Sophomore right hander David Hutzel took the win for the Majors today. Hutzel pitched for five innings giving up three runs on five hits. Hutzel walked one and struck out three batters. Tal Hendrix and Drew Maddox each pitched an inning in relief.

Second basemen Nick Crawford drove in 3 runs, going 2-4 at the plate. Left fielder Jason Hadley went 3-3 at the plate with one RBI.

The Majors next game will be a Maloney Series game against Belhaven College on Tuesday night at 6:30 at Smith-Wills Stadium.
