JACKSON, Miss. — The Millsaps Majors defeated the Huntingdon College Hawks by a score of 5-4 tonight at Twenty Field. This brings the Majors record to 14-4; the Hawks fall to 11-3 on the season. This was the Majors second defeat of Huntingdon this season.
The Majors won in dramatic fashion in the bottom of the ninth inning. John Pacillo doubled to start to the Majors’ ninth and the bases were eventually walked loaded. Pacillo scored the game winning run on a passed ball from Huntingdon pitcher J. Cardona.
The Majors saw offensive output in shortstop Justin Carter (2-3, 1 RBI) and John Pacillo (2-3, 1 RBI, 2 runs scored)
The Majors pitched by committee by tonight using 6 different hurlers. The win goes to senior right hander Tal Hendrix (2-4). Tal faced one batter in the top of the ninth during a tie in the ballgame. Tal induced a pop out.
The Majors will next be in action on Saturday, March 18 at 12:00 versus Illinois Wesleyan at Twenty Field.
