Rogan Tabbed SCAC Co-Player of the Week
Senior forward averaged 24.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists

January 4, 2008

SUWANEE, Ga. – After chipping in back-to-back 20-point games to help the Majors knock off NAIA opponents Belhaven and Loyola-New Orleans, senior forward Rodney Rogan has been named the SCAC Co-Player of the Week for games played Dec. 17 through Jan. 1.

Rogan averaged 24.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in back-to-back wins to help Millsaps to its fifth-straight home win to open the season.

The senior fell just two points shy of a new career-high with 25 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the floor and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds for his third double-double of the year to help the Majors to their first win over Belhaven, 75-70, in the Tim Wise era. Rogan netted 15 of his game and team-high 25 in the first half, knocking down a jumper at the 13:51 mark that started a 19-4 run for Millsaps and gave them the lead for the first time in the contest.

Against the Wolfpack, Rogan netted a game-high 23 points to go along with six rebounds, five assists and three steals in an 89-69 win over Loyola-New Orleans.

The Houston senior, who is averaging a team-best 15.3 ppg (ninth in the SCAC), hit the 1,000-point mark in his career two weeks ago and is now just 37 rebounds shy of hitting the 500 rebound mark. In addition, Rogan is fifth in the league in rebounding (8.1 rpg), eighth in assists (2.9 apg) and tied for seventh in steals (1.78 spg).

Millsaps hosts SCAC opponents Southwestern (5-5, 2-0) and Trinity University (9-1, 2-0) tonight and tomorrow night in the Hangar Dome. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m. for both games.
