SUWANEE, Ga. -- A
day before finishing the season with an 18-9 overall mark and not qualifying
for the NCAA Tournament Field of 59, the Millsaps Majors
had
four
players named to the 2006-07 All-SCAC Team.
In exclusive voting by the
head coaches of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, the conference's
leading rebounder (9.8 rpg) and second leading scorer (17.1 ppg), Edrick
Montgomery, was a unanimous pick for the All-SCAC First Team while Rodney
Rogan (13.7 ppg) was selected to the Second Team.
Not to go unnoticed were junior guards Lorenzo Bailey and Allen Odum,
who were both recognized as Honorable Mentions.
Below is a list of the players accomplishments in regular season play:
Edrick Montgomery, Jr.,
F, 6-6, Pearl, Miss.
• A beast on the low block and a fierce rebounder
• Started and scored in double figures in 22 of 25 games
• Named SCAC Player of the Week (Week 9)
• Averaged a double-double in SCAC play (17.9 ppg, 10.8 rpg)

Tied for first in the SCAC & ranks 27th in the country in rebounding
(9.8 rpg)
• Ranks second in the SCAC in scoring (17.4 ppg)
• Ranks second all-time in Millsaps history in rebounding average
• Ranks third in the SCAC in blocks (26) and field goal pct. (.553)
• Recorded nine double-doubles on the year, fell a rebound shy seven games
• Also had 36 steals
Rodney Rogan,
Jr., F, 6-5, Houston, Texas
• A versatile player who can score on the block and from the outside
• Third team All-SCAC in 2005-06
• Named SCAC Player of the Week (Week 8)
• Started in all 25 games on the season
• Scored in double figures in 18 of 25 games
• Ranks 10th in the SCAC in assists (58), 11th in scoring (13.7 ppg)
• Shot 48 percent from the floor
• Also had 26 steals and 15 blocks
• Had a season-high seven assists in a win over Oglethorpe
Allen Odum, Jr., G, 6-0, Walls, Miss.
• A lockdown guard who will force an opponent out of their rhythm
• Held three of the top five scorers in the SCAC to season/conference lows

Held OU’s Tulowitsky to a season-low six points in 35 minutes (first
meeting)
• Ranks first on the team and eighth in the SCAC in assists (61)
• Ranks fifth in the SCAC in 3-point percentage (.451)
• Started in 16 of 22 games, scoring in double figures in 12

Had a season-high 25 points at LaGrange & seven assists against Sewanee
• Had a 1.5 assist/turnover ratio
Lorenzo Bailey,
Jr., G, 5-10, Jackson, Miss.
• A threat from the outside and a scrappy defender
• Started in 22 of 25 games, had at least one 3-point basket in 23 of 25
games
• Ranks fourth in the SCAC in steals (43)
• Ranks fifth in the SCAC in 3-pointers made (57)
• Ranks 13th in the SCAC in assists (55) ... 1.8 assist/turnover ratio
• Ranks 20th in the SCAC in scoring (11.1 ppg)
• Scored in double figures in 17 games
• Ranks second in Millsaps history in 3-pointers made (147)
