Millsaps Majors pick up second straight SCAC win

Millsaps shot 50 percent from the three-point line and 73.5 percent from the free throw line in order to pick up their second straight conference win on Jan. 8, 2006.

The Majors experienced a hard fought first half, the score remaining close throughout. The Majors took an early lead, but Rhodes battled back and gained an 11 point advantage, barely five minutes into the game. The Lynx continued to lead or were tied throughout the first half. The teams went to their respective locker rooms with the Lynx leading the Majors 40-39.

When the teams came back onto the court of the Millsaps College Hangar Dome, the Majors were prepared to play, quickly gained the lead in the contest, with a Rodney Rogan lay-up. The Lynx did not go away easily, but it did not take long for the Majors to build a 12-point advantage. The Major's lead continued to grow and Millsaps eventually won the game easily, by a score of 90-74.

Lorenzo Bailey led Millsaps with 23 points. Rodney Rogan followed with 16 points and nine rebounds. The Majors will next play the University of Dallas on Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. in another home match-up.
