JACKSON -- Anna Findley poured in 21 points and picked up a game-high five steals as the visiting Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels downed Millsaps 71-53 at the Hangar Dome Friday night to pick up their 11th win of the season.
Millsaps and Oglethorpe traded leads midway through the first half, before the Stormy Petrels went on a 16-4 run, capped off by a Hannah Brooks 3-pointer, to take a 37-29 lead into the locker room.
Oglethorpe (11-4, 3-1 SCAC) never looked back from there, pushing its lead to as many as 23 late in the second half before picking up the all important road win.
For the Majors, Leslie Frese chipped in her first double-double of the season (13 points, 13 rebounds), while Crystal Dickerson added 12, Marianne Smith had eight, Deborah Sturgis had seven and Megan Bauerle added seven points off the bench.
Millsaps will try and get back in the win column on Sunday, playing host to the Sewanee Lady Tigers at 3 p.m. in the Hangar Dome.
Sunday’s game will also be broadcast live on ESPN Radio 1240AM with ESPN broadcaster Derrel Palmer.
