Majors pick up first SCAC win of the season

The Millsaps College Lady Majors defeated Hendrix College on
Fri.day, Jan. 6 by a score of 70-69. The Lady Majors shot 45.6%
throughout the contest and 63.2% from the free throw line.
The game was a back and forth battle in the first half, often
resulting in ties. Both teams shot 41.4% in the half. At the
halftime break, the score was tied at 31.
In the second
half of the contest, Hendrix pulled out to an early four point
lead, but the Lady Majors never gave up. As
the ball game waned into its final moments, Hendrix held a 66-62
advantage over Millsaps. Martha McDaniel made a three-pointer
to pull the Lady Majors within one. Following a Hendrix three
point shot, Lindsey Alderman scored another three for Millsaps.
A foul by Hendrix then put Martha McDaniel on the line. She made
both shots to win the game for Millsaps.
Miranda Rosar had 15 points for Millsaps. Crystal Dickerson
had 14 points and ten rebounds in the winning effort.
