CLINTON -- In the women's first event of the fall 2007 season, junior Maria Greene of Millsaps finished fifth overall with a time of 19:15.70 to pace the Majors in the Mississippi College Invitational 4K Run on Friday.

In a small event that only featured the two teams and a combined 10 runners, Greene crossed the tape first for Millsaps averaging a 7:45 mile while teammates Ivy Settlemires and Anna Allred each finished with times under 23 minutes.

For the host Choctaws, Jessica McGee, Rachel Hardin and Kimberly Armstrong finished one, two, three with times of 17:10.38, 17:18.38 and 17:26.08.

The Majors next event of the fall season takes place this weekend in Hattiesburg.
