Millsaps just 11 votes shy of familiar foe

MINNEAPOLIS,
Minn. – The D3football.com preseason Top 25
poll was released early this morning and a pair of familiar
teams were back on top. Nine-time national champion
Mount Union held the No. 1 spot
with 19 first place votes, while defending
national
champion, UW-Whitewater was No. 2 with five first
place votes.
Millsaps
was just on the outside looking in for a preseason ranking,
gaining 61 votes, just 11 behind
cross-town rival Mississippi College at No. 25. The Majors
are coming off their best season in 11 years at 8-2 and will
be seeking a piece of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference
title for a third-straight year.
The
D3football.com Top 25, now in its sixth season, is voted on
by a panel of

coaches,
