SUWANEE,
Ga. -- After tallying nine tackles (five
solo), 4.0 tackles-for-loss and a career-high
three sacks, Casey Younger of Millsaps has been selected
the SCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week as well as
being named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for games
played Saturday, September 22. 
A First
Team All-SCAC and D3Football.com Third Team All-South Region
selection in 2006, this
marks the first time in Younger's four-year career that
he has earned SCAC
Player of the Week accolades.
A native of Vicksburg, Younger helped lead a defensive front
that picked up a total of seven sacks and seven tackles-for-loss
as
the Majors'
defense held Rhodes College to just 146 total
yards
in
a 42-0
win at Harper Davis Field.
The senior
defensive lineman and co-captain has
now amassed 150 tackles for his career along with 22.5 tackles-for-loss
and eight sacks.
Next week the Majors will travel to Greencastle, Ind., for
a huge SCAC
showdown with the 3-0 DePauw Tigers. The
Majors defeated DePauw 31-7 last year, giving them
their first victory since the Tigers joined the SCAC.
