STERLING,
Va. -- After
tying a single-game school record set by Kevin Callison against
Lambuth in 1985 with three field goals against Centre College
last weekend, freshman kicker Taylor
Russolino
from Metairie, La., finds his name on this week's D3football.com
National Team of the Week -- the second Millsaps selection
of the year.
Russolino's kicks of 34, 35 and a career-high 38 -- all in
the first half -- gave the Majors a 9-7 halftime edge in
which they went on to win 29-7 with a 20-point fourth
quarter. It was Millsaps' 10th-straight conference win.
The Majors were just 1
of 8 on field goals entering the game before Russolino made
all three of his attempts. He was also a perfect 2 for 2
on point after attempts and averaged 57.6 yards per kickoff
in seven chances, including a season-long 65 yard kickoff
(twice).
For the season, Russolino is 3 of 4 on field goals, 6 of
8 on PATs and is averaging 56.5 yards per kickoff.
