JACKSON - ESPN Radio
1240 AM announced today that an agreement has been signed between
Millsaps College and ESPN Radio to become the "Voice of the Majors"
for the 2006-07 campaign. This agreement will include football,
men's and women's basketball and also baseball.
"We're very excited about this agreement," director of radio
operations Derrel Palmer said. "This gives us a local college
voice in the market and gives Millsaps College the publicity
that any athletic program desires.
Russ Robinson, a 30-year veteran of play-by-play, will handle
the game calling duties with help from William Griffin, Palmer
and Lex Clark.
Athletic Director, Tim Wise and M-Club Director and head baseball
coach Jim Paige are credited with putting the deal together,
which includes broadcasting over the internet on a game to game
basis.
The football package deal also includes an 8 p.m. - 9 p.m. show
with Majors head coach Mike DuBose on Thursday evenings.
