FLOWOOD -- Junior
Michael Ameen led all Majors in their first spring event of 2007,
carding a score of 78 to help Millsaps to a sixth place finish
at the Mississippi College Invitational held
at
Patrick
Farms
Golf Club
in Flowood.
With a total score of 327 on the afternoon, the Majors fell a
couple strokes shy of a fifth place finish behind in-state foe
Tougaloo College who carded a combined 324.
Behind Ameen (pictured), senior Daniel Rice (80),
senior Chad Tobler (84), sophomore Jack Rader (85) and freshman
Madison Field
(85)
each held their own in the field of 47 players.
LeTourneau University took top honors, posting a score of 300
behind Christian Sarran, Patrick Palmer, Dillon Swain, Ty Burgett,
Ben Luckert, Greg Garner, Dave Rush and Brad Moughon.
Others competing in the tournament were Mississippi College (304),
Belhaven (315), Louisiana College (317), Mississippi College JV
(334) and Louisiana College JV (341).
The Majors will tee it up again at the Spring Golf Classic
in Danville, Ark., March 17 and 18 hosted by Hendrix College.
