La. The Louisiana College golf team shot a team total of
318, three strokes off the lead, in day one of the Louisiana College
Wildcat Invitational held at Oak Wing Golf Club on Monday. The University
of Texas-Tyler leads the tournament after shooting a 315 on the
par 72 course.
UT-Tyler also
has three of the top four individual players in Sean Sciba (73),
Ben Thompson (74), and Larry McDougal (77). LCs lowest scorer
was Sam Spurgeon, who is in fifth place after shooting a 78. Three
other LC golfers, Corey Bergeron, Taylor Huffman, and Micah Triche,
are tied for seventh place after shooting 80.
Following LC
in third place is LeTourneau (322). The rest of the field finished
as follows: 4. University of Texas-Dallas (322); 5. Millsaps (333);
6. Belhaven (341); 7. Texas Lutherans JV (345); 8. University
of Dallas (347); 9. Mississippi College; 10. Concordia-Austin (356).
The tournament
will conclude Tuesday with a single round. The first tee time is
set for 7:30 a.m.
