SUWANEE, Ga. – The Southern Collegiate
Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced its Student-Athlete
Academic
Honor Roll on Tuesday, Feb. 12, for the 2007 fall term and
a record 715 student-athletes made the list. Since its inception
in
1997,
almost 12,000 male and female student-athletes have been
recognized for their contributions in the classroom.
The Southern
Collegiate Athletic Conference earlier this year released its
spring academic honor roll and Millsaps had 37 student-athletes
selected for
that squad. All told, the College had 89 student-athletes
recognized by the league for their academic accomplishments
in 2007.
For a seventh-straight term, DePauw University led all SCAC
schools with 101 selections, following 157 in the spring – the
highest total since the Honor Roll's inception
in 1997.
To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point
average of 3.25 for the term and be a regular member of a varsity
athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference.
