September 22, 2006

GEORGETOWN, Texas -
In the first game of a two-day road swing to Texas, the men’s soccer team fell to Southwestern 5-0 after the Pirates found the back of the net three times in the first half.

Southwestern (3-4, 1-0 SCAC) out shot Millsaps for the game, totaling 15 shots – 11 in the second half - to the Majors three, while the Pirates also fired 11 shots-on-goal to the Majors one.

Preston Hollis of Southwestern led his team to victory, tallying two goals and two assists for six points on the contest. The other Pirate goals came from John Martinez (6), Nate Ellis and Josh Spencer.

Senior Ben Buckner earned the lone shot-on-goal for Millsaps, while Anthony Amaya and Drew Wooton each took a shot for the Majors.

Millsaps (0-6, 0-1 SCAC) will test its skill Sunday afternoon when they take on the No. 1 team in the nation, Trinity University at 12 p.m. They will then return home Sept. 29 to host DePauw University. Game time is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
