Majors Fall to DePauw, 3-0
Millsaps still searching for first win of the season

September 29, 2006

JACKSON -
In front of a solid crowd at Harper Davis Field on Friday evening, the DePauw Tigers used two early first half goals to get past Millsaps 3-0 and earn their first conference win of the season.

DePauw (4-3, 1-0 SCAC) lit up the scoreboard first when a Millsaps defender mishandled a ball in the box, setting up Scott Noel to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead at the 21:00 mark.

The lead jumped to 2-0 just four minutes later, when younger brother Scott found older brother Nick Noel off a DePauw corner kick.

The entire second half was a stalemate, with both teams struggling to find the back of the net and picking up the defensive play.  The two teams also combined for 19 fouls and two yellow cards in the second.

The Tigers added another late goal with six minutes remaining, when junior Jeremy Rielley beat Majors goalkeeper Domenick DiPaolo to close out the match 3-0.

The Majors (0-8, 0-3 SCAC) are still looking for their first win of the season and in conference play.  They will be back in action Sunday when they host Centre College at 12 p.m.
