Amaya Earns All-SCAC Third Team Accolades
Majors land sixth-straight all-conference third team selection

November 14, 2006

SUWANEE, Ga. --
As announced by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) today, sophomore forward Anthony Amaya has been named to this year's all-conference third team.

The Hattiesburg native finished the 2006 campaign as the team-leader in assists (4), while finishing second in overall points with 10.

Amaya played in all but one game on the season, picking up three goals including the Majors' first goal of the season on a penalty kick.

He finished second on the team in shots (26) and shot percentage (.115), while finishing third on the team in shots-on-goal (12) and shot-on-goal percentage (.462).

Amaya also recorded a point in five different contests, including a season-high two assists (twice) in games at Rhodes and Delta State.

The Majors only lose five players on a very young squad and hope to return a handful of players for the 2007 season.
