The Trinity
Tigers hardly remember stopping in Jackson last season and beating the
Majors 6-0 on their way to winning another conference championship and
later the national championship.
But Head Coach
Lee Johnson made sure that during the long
offseason his players didn't forget last season's shutout.
The Tigers still outshot the
Majors on Saturday 19-3, but just before halftime Johnson called on freshman
Oghale Ighoavodha to give the offense a spark just before halftime. In
under two minutes Ighoavodha broke free from the Tiger defense and scored
an unassisted goal.
The Tigers put one more goal
on the board before the half, but the Majors held the Tigers offense scoreless
in the second half, but they couldn't put the ball in the net and lost
3-1.
