Texas teams Trinity University and Southwestern University have been ranked at the top of the conference and among the best soccer teams in the nation for several years.

On Saturday, after beating Oglethorpe in Atlanta the Lady Tigers and Lady Pirates took two from the Lady Majors leaving their record at 0-2 in the SCAC.

The Majors were at a disadvantage from the start with goalkeeper Mary Raines on the bench still feeling the effects of a concussion suffered in the Rhodes Tournament that opened the season.

The Lady Majors hit the road for the next week to face conference foes DePauw and Rose-Hulman before a Sunday match-up with Loyola University. On Oct. 8 and Oct. 10 respectively Centre College and Sewanee come to Jackson for Family Weekend.

The Friday and Sunday games sandwich a Saturday home football game and family oriented events throughout the weekend.
