Majors Win Fifth-Straight, Claim Saturday Twinbill
Sunday's doubleheader scheduled for a noon start

March 31, 2007

CONWAY, Ark. -- Senior Josie Manley and freshman Jennnifer McKinley combined for 8 of the Majors' 16 hits on the afternoon and freshmen Kasey Thibodeaux and Brittney McAllister tossed complete games in the circle to help lead Millsaps to a rain-delayed twinbill sweep over Hendrix on Saturday at Warrior Field.

Thibodeaux (3-6, 3.07 ERA) was credited with her third consecutive win after dropping her first six to open the season, scattering four hits and three strikeouts in seven innings of scoreless ball for her team-leading third shutout of the year.

Millsaps (10-16, 5-1 SCAC) broke a 0-0 tie in the top of the fifth frame when McKinley sent a shot up the middle to score Morgan Ladner from second, who reached base safely by way of a walk, with two outs.

In the nightcap, two Millsaps runs in the first inning gave McAllister (7-2, 3.75 ERA) the cushion she needed, as the freshman from Mobile, Ala., scattered six hits, four strikeouts and two runs in a complete game performance for her seventh consecutive win.

Hendrix (9-21, 2-4 SCAC) plated two runs in the bottom of the third to knot the game at 2-2 before the Majors added a single run in the fourth and fifth and two in the seventh for the 6-2 victory.

Manley (pictured) picked up three of the Majors' six RBIs off a double and a triple while McKinley, Thibodeaux and junior outfielder Jessica Clincy drove home the remaining three runs.

Millsaps and Hendrix will be back in action tomorrow for the final two games of a 4-game series with first pitch at Warrior Field slated for a noon start.
