The Millsaps Majors (4-6,
0-0) were shutout 4-0 in game one at Mississippi College Wed., but
the Majors picked up the win in game two when pinch-hitter Amanda
Stevens smacked a double scoring three runs in a 5-2 Majors win.
Stevens, a freshman,
has been used primarily as a DH and pinch runner, but the Majors
were in need of spark at the plate and Stevens double secured the
Majors win. The Choctaws lead the season series 3-1.
Choctaws starter Kayla
Watkins haad allowed three hits and struck out three in the game
one win, but the Majors got to Watkins in game two. Watkins lasted
three innings giving way to Carly Buckley who would take the loss.
Kati Fleming picked her
second win of the season and Tammy Ladner loss in game one was her
third. Naffie Mooney had two hits and one RBI in the win and Josie
Manley and Crystal Bender both went 2-4.
