MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Lady Majors were able to pick up the first win of the still young softball season by splitting a double-header with Huntingdon College (1-3).
Millsaps won the first game by a score of 6-5 behind the arm and bat of pitcher Erica Douglas. In 7 innings of work Douglas gave up 5 runs on 9 hits and struck on one batter. At the plate Douglas went 3 for 4 and scored a run.
In the nightcap, Millsaps eventually lost 5-4 in 8 innings. The Majors were led offensively by second baseman Christina Sharp. Sharp was 1-4 at the plate with 2 RBI and a run scored.
After 7 innings the score was tied at 2 runs a piece. In the top of the 8th Millsaps scored 2 more runs. However, the Lady Majors were unable to hold on to their lead in the bottom half of the inning.
Kylie Kurtz was given the loss for the Majors. s
