SAN ANTONIO, Tex. - Trinity University’s Lady Tigers again proved, for the second day in a row, to be too much for the Lady Majors to handle. The Lady Majors were unable to avoid the four game sweep in San Antonio this weekend. This brings the Lady Majors season record to 8-19, 2-6. Trinity improves their SCAC record to 8-0 and sits atop first place in the Western Division.
Trinity took the early lead in the first game of the day, but Millsaps held on to take their first lead over the Lady Tigers for the weekend. The Lady Majors were able to score two runs in in the top of the second inning. Tiffany Ladiner scored on a Jessica Clincy RBI followed by Erica Douglass coming home on a Christina Sharp RBI. Helen Loring also scored in the fifth inning to increase the Millsaps lead to 3-1.
Millsaps held this lead until the sixth inning when Trinity showed their determination. The Lady Tigers scored five runs and took the 6-3 lead and held on to the lead for the eventual win.
The second game of the day saw much of the same action. Trinity scored two runs in the second inning and two runs in the third inning. Millsaps was only able to garner two runs in the third inning. Christina Sharp and Kylie Kurtz scored the only runs off of a Helen Loring RBI.
