Lady Majors take two Sunday from Trinity

The Millsaps Majors (9-9, 3-1) softball team plated two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning after Trinity (8-8, 1-3) had scored one in the top of the seventh to take the lead.

Amanda Stevens hit a hard grounder through the left side to plate Renee Green for the game winning run in game one. Kati Fleming(5-3) threw a complete game two hitter allowing the one late run and walked two, striking out one.

Game two was all Millsaps. The Majors plated four runs in the first and four more in the third inning to take a commanding 8-0 lead before the Tigers plated three runs in the fourth off starter Tammy Ladner.

Ladner (3-5) made up for the loss on Saturday by throwing a complete game six hitter, allowing three runs and striking out two.

Crystal Bender went 2-4 with two RBIs including a home run to centerfield and Naffie Mooney returned to the lineup Sunday and went 2-3 with two RBIs. Fleming went 1-2 with two RBIs and Stevens and Brittany Ladner had an RBI each in the win.

The Lady Majors won two-in-one-day for the second time this season (first in SCAC play) and take three of four from the Tigers.
