WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Head
men’s and women’s tennis coach Scott Pennington and
former William & Mary netter Patrick Brown teamed up this past
weekend at the Love All Professional Doubles Tournament, splitting
a pair of matches against ranked opponents.
The tournament benefits children with disabilities and raises
money for in home assisted care.
Pennington/Brown won their first match over former touring professional
Skip Bishop and his partner Billy Nason, knocking off the tandem
in a three-set match 6-0, 5-7, 6-2.
In their second match of the weekend, the pair was defeated by
former top 300 in the world Andrew Carlson and current touring
pro Landon Shaffer. Pennington/Brown squandered five break point
opportunities in the second set and lost 6-2, 7-6 (4) in the quarterfinals.
