Majors defeated Lake Forest College (Illinois) 4-3 to start their spring break trip on a winning note.
Russell Turley and Tim Shoptaugh put the Majors within one win of the doubles point with a rout of Robbie Burda and Nick Sander 8-2 at number one doubles. Wes Hill and Trevor Harris secured the doubles point with an 8-4 win at number three over Tim Tierney and Will Hiemenz.
Freshman sensation Tim Shoptaugh of Baton Rouge put the Majors up 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Robbie Burda. Freshman stalwart Chris Rolen dispatched Tim Tierney 6-3 ,6-4 to increase the lead to 3-0. Wes Hill and Travis Scharr were defeated to make the score 3-2. Trevor Harris secured the win with a 7-5,6-3 over Sebastian Burda at six.
With the win in place, Russell Turley was retired to save for next days matches.
