Transylvania University downed the Majors 6-1, leaving Majors at 3-2 for the season. Transylvania, a perennial conference champion in the NAIA proved too strong for the Majors. 

Turley and Shoptaugh lost for the first time this season 8-4 to seniors Jody Mitchell and Matt Clayton.  Clayton and Mitchell have been partners all the way through juniors and played flawlessly against Turley and Shoptaugh. Wes Hill and Trevor Harris had a close match as well, but fell at number three to Tim Atkinson and Kyle Herrer.

Chris Rolen had to be retired 1-6 due to the heat, but playing well.  Travis Scharr lost at number four to Josh Niehaus 6-2,6-1.  Trevor Harris fooled all, including Transylvania’s coach losing at number six, as he controlled his match but lost. 

Wes Hill redeemed his performance against Lake Forest with a strong outing against Matt Clayton, but lost 7-5, 6-3.  Russell Turley ran into a hot hitting Jody Mitchell fresh coming off of wins against Rhodes and Sewanee and lost 6-3,6-3. 

Tim Shoptaugh was the bright spot for the Mahors as he won at #2 6-3,7-6(5) over Parker Gregory.
