TYLER, Texas -- The duo of Emily Stewart/Allison Zakaras at No. 1 doubles paced the Millsaps scoring, earning an 8-0 victory over the team of Carroll/Simmons en route to 2 of 3 doubles points and 5 of 6 singles points for a 7-1 win on Friday.

Beth Fossen/Allisa Vincent of Millsaps knocked off the duo of Winslow/Hastie, 8-4, at No. 3 doubles to give the Majors an early 2-1 edge before a close 8-5 loss at No. 2 doubles.

In singles action, Beth Sadler downed Carroll 7-6 (3), 6-3, at the No. 1 slot while Beth Piraino, Hillary Hamblen, Zakaras and Fossen eached picked up wins.

Millsaps will continue its two-day road swing to Texas tomorrow, facing off with tournament host UT-Tyler and conference foe Austin College. The matches are slated to begin at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
