The Lady Majors swept the visiting Mississippi
College Choctaws Friday night 30-21, 30-24, and 30-24. For the Majors,
Ashley Weber
had 12 of the teams 37 kills on the day, and Jennifer Pujol added another
8. Pujol led the team, which had 5
total blocks, with 3. The Lady Majors had three players in double digit
digs. Katie Brown led the team with 34, while Weber had 25 and Cassidy
Baker helped out with 12.
On Thursday, the Lady
Majors won the first two games at home against Loyola(La.) by scores of
30-28 and 30-24, before dropping the third game 31-29. Head coach Jamie
Burns rallied the team to a win in the fourth and deciding game, 30-15.
Ashley Weber led the team with 17 kills followed by Jennifer Pujol with
14. Liz Blanche and Jennifer Braswell finished their impressive day with
11 and 10 kills, respectively.
Defensively, Blanche
had 4 blocks to lead the Lady Majors followed by Pujol and Braswell who
each had 3 of the teams 13 total blocks. Weber also led the team in digs
racking up 21. Colleen Kelly had 18 digs, and Katie Brown and Erin Dehon
each had 14.
