SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- The Millsaps Lady Majors
(5-7, 3-3) are 2-0 through the first day of competition in the SCAC
Cross Divisional being played at Trinity University. The Lady Majors
have won four straight matches.
The Lady Majors started their current win
streak with two home wins last Saturday against LeTourneau and UT-Tyler
in the Hangar Dome.
On Friday the
Majors kicked of the tournament by defeating Rose Hulman in a thrilling
five game set 30-22, 32-34, 30-21, 27-30, 16-14.
Ashley Weber
led the Majors in kills with 14 and blocks with three. Renee Green
had 28 assists and Cassidy Baker had 19 digs to lead the Majors.
Kim Fox had four aces in the win.
The Centre Colonels
stretched the Majors to a four game set but fell 30-25, 28-30, 30-24,
30-24.
Weber again
led the Majors with 19 kills. Baker had 26 assists to lead the Majors
and Keisha Keyes had 25 digs from her libero position. Andy Kutcher
had four aces and Jennifer Pujol led the Majors in blocks with four.
