Chemistry, often defined as the 'central science,' prepares a student for success in many science related occupations.  A career in chemistry will provide you with the opportunity to contribute in many areas such as medicine, the environment, manufacturing, polymers, safety and law enforcement.  Students can enter the teaching profession or industry directly or pursue additional study for advanced degrees in chemistry, biochemistry or one of the health professions (Medical, Dental School, etc.).  Over the past five years, 70% of the Millsaps Chemistry graduates have gone to graduate or professional schools.
