Mission
Statement
The
mission of the Department of Chemistry is
to meet the needs of three types of students:
-
Those who plan to enter graduate school
for advanced study, or to enter the field
of industrial chemistry
-
Those who plan to enter the professional
schools of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy,
and other professions requiring a knowledge
of chemistry.
-
Those who are non-science majors, but
who desire the subject for its cultural
and educational values.
In
addition to strong traditional classroom, laboratory,
information technology and library experiences, the Department
offers the opportunity for a challenging research experience
for those who desire it.
