Classical Studies...
Celebrates Our Eta Sigma Phi Initiates

The Department of Classical Studies at Millsaps is a proud member of Eta Sigma Phi, the national Classics honorary dedicated "to develop and promote interest in classical study among the students of colleges and universities ... and to simulate interest in the history, art, and literature of ancient Greece and Rome."

Each year we induct new members--students of the Classics who display academic excellence and a passion for the past. This year's inductees include Amber Amore, Hevyn Allen, Chad Bowen, Rachel Brooks, Ben Cain, Emily Gilbert, Ashley Jefcoat, Eric Sumrall, Austin Tooley.

Contact us to find out how you can be part of Eta Sigma Phi
at Millsaps College.

Eta Sigma Phi members, initiates, and faculty: (standing L to R) Austin Tooley, Glen McLeod, Eric Sumrall, John Yargo, Andrew Harris, Dr. Freis, Dr. Gleason, Ashley Jefcoat, Ben Cain, Sarah Castille, Hevyn Allen, and Emily Gilbert; (crouching) Lacey Cook and Julia Fell

Each year following induction, we celebrate our initiates and our passion for Classics with a party for all Classics students.

Dr. Freis enjoys a laugh with Andy Carlson, Glen McLeod, and Andrew Harris.
