930 Blues Café: Website

Serving Southern cooking from 5pm-until in the restaurant or during the show. Options include a slab of ribs, home-style catfish, chicken wings, or pork chops. Full bar.
Directions: Turn right onto State Street and travel south. Turn right on Fortification. Turn left onto Congress. 930 Blues Café is on the left-hand side of Congress Street.

BRAVO! Italian Restaurant & Bar: Website

Traditional regional Italian cuisine mixed with the flavors & cooking techniques of the new world. Popular cocktail lounge. BRAVO! has been consistently voted one of Jackson’s best restaurants and has received the WineSpectator Award of Excellence every year since 1997. Brunch served Sat. & Sun. from 11:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Directions: Turn left onto State Street. Make a right onto Woodrow Wilson. Merge onto I-55 going north. From I-55, take Exit 99 and continue right at the fork in the ramp. Take the first left into the first entrance into Highland Village, just past the new construction (Newk’s). BRAVO! is the first restaurant located on the upper level.

Broad Street Baking Company & Café: Website

Breakfast, lunch & dinner, seven days a week. Artisan breads, European pastries, gourmet sandwiches, creative salads, quiche, soups, pasta, and pizzas. Self-service; affordable prices.
Directions: Turn left onto State Street. Make a right onto Woodrow Wilson. Merge onto I-55 going north. From I-55, take the Northside exit. At the light, turn left and loop under the overpass. Continue straight onto the Frontage Road, and turn right into the Banner Hall parking lot.

La Cazuela

Mexican dishes, margaritas, and more. Open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
Directions: Turn right onto State Street and travel south. Turn left onto Fortification St. La Cazuela is on the right-hand side, near I-55.

Char: Website

Upscale restaurant serving delicious steaks, chops, and seafood. Jazz brunch is offered on Sundays.
Directions: Turn left onto State Street. Make a right onto Woodrow Wilson. Merge onto I-55 going north. From I-55, take the Meadowbrook exit. Veer onto ramp toward Northside Drive East. Continue north on Frontage Road. Turn right into the Char parking lot in Highland Village.

Cherokee Inn

Burgers, plate lunches, cold beer, and a game room. A Jackson staple.
Directions: Turn left onto State Street. Make a right onto Woodrow Wilson. Merge onto I-55 going north. From I-55 take the Northside exit and continue straight on the Frontage Road. Turn right on Old Square Road. Cherokee is on the left side of the street.

The Elite

Homestyle cooking; standard dinner fare includes fresh fish, Greek favorites, and Mexican dishes.
Directions: Turn right onto State Street and travel south. Turn right onto Amite Street. Continue west down Amite Street. Turn left onto Roach Street, then turn left onto Capitol St. The Elite is on the right side of the street across from the McCoy Federal Building.

Jerusalem Café

Mediterranean and Lebanese cuisine, including tabbouleh, lamb, falafel, shish kabob, hummus, feta salad, and moussaka. Jackson’s only hookah bar. Beer, wine, and margaritas available.
Directions: Turn left onto State Street and travel north. Veer right at the Old Canton Road fork. Continue north on Old Canton. Shortly after the light, turn left into the Jerusalem Cafe parking lot, located just after Grillis Photography and right before Cups in the old El Ranchero location.

Eclectic Southern fusion cuisine. One of Jackson’s hippest fine dining locations.
Directions: Turn left onto State Street. Make a right onto Woodrow Wilson. Merge onto I-55 going north. From I-55, take the Northside exit. At the light, turn right, and then make a quick right into the Julep parking lot in Highland Village Shopping Center (former Old Tyme Deli location).

Keifer’s

Greek cuisine in a charming casual setting. Gyros, wrap sandwiches, salads, plus traditional Greek fare.
Directions: Turn right onto State Street and travel south. Turn left onto Poplar Ave., just past the BP Station. Kiefer’s is located on the right-hand side of Poplar.

Mayflower Restaurant

Fresh seafood, steaks, and pasta dishes; bring your own bottle of wine. Oldest family restaurant in Jackson.
Directions: Turn right onto State Street and travel south. Turn right onto Amite Street. Continue west down Amite Street. Turn left onto Roach Street, then left onto Capitol St. The Mayflower is on the right side of the street at the corner of Capitol and Roach, with parking available around the back.

Nick’s: Website

An elegant setting with outstanding steaks, seafood, and pasta, plus an impressive wine list. Reservations are suggested.
Directions: Turn left onto State Street and travel north. Veer right onto Old Canton Road at the fork. Turn right onto Lakeland Drive. Nick’s is on the right side of Lakeland, next to Bancorp South/EFP.

Old Venice Pizza Company: Website

Pizza Shack

Choose one of the specialty pizzas or build your own. Other options include salads, deli sandwiches, and subs. Italian sodas and imported and domestic beers are also available.
Directions: Turn right onto State Street and continue south for one-half mile. Pizza Shack is on the left-hand side of the street across from Baptist Medical Center.

Que Sera Sera: Website

Jackson’s choice for Creole cuisine. Live music on heated patio. Extensive martini menu. French Quarter Brunch served Sat-Sun 11-4.
Directions: Turn left onto State Street and continue north. Veer left at the Old Canton Road fork. Continue north on State Street. Que Sera is on the left-hand side of the street.

Sal & Mookie’s New York Pizza & Ice Cream Joint: Website

Opened in spring 2007, this family-friendly New York-style pizzeria serves pizza by-the-slice during lunch and features a full bar and “scoop shop” with gourmet but inexpensive ice cream. An open kitchen with ledge and handles lets kids watch the pizza-making process! Jackson’s newest hangout for the whole family.
Directions: Turn left onto State Street and travel north. Veer left at the Old Canton Road fork. Continue north on State Street. Turn left onto Taylor Street. Sal & Mookie’s is on the left-hand side of the street in a mustard-yellow building.

Schimmel’s

This establishment offers dining at its best with hand-cut steaks, fresh seafood, perfect martinis, a cigar-friendly area, and much more. Reservations are suggested. Very close to Millsaps.
Directions: Turn left onto State Street and travel north. Schimmel’s is located on the left-hand side of the street, across the parking lot from Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Thai House

Jackson’s only Thai restaurant serving delicious specialties including pad thai, curries, paprika shrimp, pom kha, and cashew chicken. The new, central location features traditional woodwork furniture and beautiful artwork. Speciality and Asian beers. Bring your own wine.
Directions: Turn left onto State Street. Make a right onto Woodrow Wilson. Merge onto I-55 going north. From I-55 take the Northside exit. Continue straight on the Frontage Road. Turn right onto Old Square Rd. The restaurant is located on the right-hand side of the street across from the Cherokee Inn, in the old Moe’s location. The bright red Thai House sign is visible from the frontage road.

Walker’s Drive-In: Website

One of Jackson’s coolest dining locations, this vintage 1950s diner serves eclectic new Southern cuisine. Menus change seasonally, but the Redfish Anna with lump crab meat is a popular staple. Large wine list.
Directions: Turn left onto State Street and continue north. Veer left at the Old Canton Road fork. Continue north on State Street. Walker’s is on the right-hand side of the street between the Fondren Corner building and Duling Avenue.
