Millsaps College's
Leadership Seminar in the Humanities for the Spring Semester 2006 will
begin January 6-7, with a weekend retreat at Gray Center.
Thereafter, weekly
meetings will be held on Wednesday mornings in the Millsaps Room of the
Millsaps-Wilson Library on the Millsaps College campus, January 11 - April
19, 2006, skipping the week of spring break, March 15. Each session will
begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 11:30 a.m. A continental breakfast
will be served at 8:00 a.m. before each class begins.
Cost
Leadership Seminars
in the Humanities were begun in 1988 through a grant from the National
Endowment for the Humanities. Their continuation is made possible
in part by the generous support of Millsaps College and by the support
of former seminar participants.
The fee for participating
in this seminar is $800. This course is an academic offering of the College
and carries four hours of graduate credit. As such, there will be required
reading and writing assignments during the semester. There is also the
option of taking the course as a noncredit option; readings and weekly
informal reflection paper assignments will be the same, but a major research
paper will not be required for those selecting the noncredit option. For
