The Core Office offers the following services to faculty:
- Course Readers are developed.
The Core Office publishes course readers in cooperation with the
instructors. Copyright permissions are obtained, copies are edited
and paginated, and tables of contents are developed. These course
readers are printed and delivered to the bookstore for students
to purchase.
- Examination copies of textbooks
for syllabus preparation are ordered from publishers and mailed
directly to the instructor.
- Desk copies are ordered and
mailed to instructors and Ford Fellows.
- Core 1 Book Orders for materials
common to each section are ordered.
- The Core Office assists the faculty
editorial committee of
Reflections, the publication containing the winners of
the
Frank and Rachel Ann Laney Award..
- Reservations for rooms,
films and equipment are made. The Core Office orders, reserves,
copies and maintains a library
of films appropriate for use in Core courses.
- Slides are made, developed,
labeled and delivered.
- Faculty are reimbursed for
expenses related to teaching of Core courses.
- Xerox numbers are assigned
to Core faculty.
- Guidelines and models are provided
to faculty for the development of new Core courses.
The Core Office will direct students
to the appropriate faculty members for administrative solutions
as needed to re-evaluate transcripts, to waive Core 1 or other Core
courses, and to solve scheduling problems for Core classes. You may
