Dr. Mann and her students conduct ecological research in the summer at the Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship in northern Virginia . They are inventorying the plants, animals and biological communities at the site and are monitoring the water quality of the streams. This is part of an interdisciplinary project in which Dr. Michael Galaty of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology and his students are conducting archeological research at the site.
