Sociology/Anthropology
Facilities
The Sociology/Anthropology
Department consists of a large communal space, which is informal
and comfortable and designed to encourage interaction between
students and faculty, whose offices are directly attached. Several
glass display cases are housed in this portion of the Department
and artifact displays from departmental collections are regularly
changed by students. A large collection of sociology texts were
donated to the Department by former faculty member Dr. Frances
Coker and these form the core of The Frances Coker Library. The
Department also incorporates a laboratory space designed for archaeological
research. Student majors are provided keys to these facilities
and may come and go as they please.
