Faith and Work

Millsaps students are thinkers. They enjoy engaging complex issues and tackling tough questions. They know that to thrive in today's world requires a sophisticated cadre of intellectual abilities as well as a mature moral imagination. The Millsaps College curriculum is uniquely positioned to equip students with the intellectual tools, global awareness, and ethical sensibilities necessary for personal and communal flourishing in today's complex world.

The Meaning of Work
Work. . . We spend most of our waking hours doing it, but we rarely stop to reflect on its meaning for our individual lives and the larger world in which we live. What insights into the vital queston of the meaning of work can be culled from religion, philosophy, psychology, history, and business? This interdisciplinary course invites students to reflect critically on the possibilities for meaningful work in today's world and to test out those possibilities in real-world laboratories.

Ethics
Perhaps more than ever before, young people need opportunities to develop moral imaginations that will allow them to live with integrity and generosity amidst the complexities and challenges of today's world. An array of ethics courses offers Millsaps students just this chance.
