Becky Bacot Hall

Built in 1966, Becky Bacot Hall is a freshmen residence hall
for men named after the late daughter of a prominent Methodist couple. Bacot
Hall is located on the North Side of campus and is near the Physical Activities
Center, which houses the campus gym, Olin Hall (an academic building), and
the Campbell College Center, where the cafeteria and campus coffee shop
are located. Between both Sanderson and Franklin Halls, Bacot stands out
with the four-wing design and large walled courtyard featuring a colorful
mural, tables, benches, and grills, a perfect place for gathering with friends
and entertaining. The building is surrounded by lush landscaping and has
immediate access to parking facilities directly behind the dorm.
The lobby has beige walls, sofas, and chairs, and is divided
into a televison area,
with a large-screen television set, and a meeting area with a piano. Soda,
juice, and snack machines are also located on the first floor. Each floor
has its own laundry facility, and study rooms and bathrooms are located
on every floor.
Each cream-colored room in Bacot Hall is divided by a dual
closet with two desks, chairs, dressers on one side, and two beds on the
other. All rooms have phone jacks with voice mail capabilities, caller identification,
and call waiting. Each room also includes two internet hook ups and basic
furniture: a desk, chair, dresser, closet and bed for each occupant. Since
none of the rooms in Bacot Hall are carpeted, students are encouraged to
bring their own area rugs.
