Co-ed Kickball
Tournament
Spring 2006
1. Equipment:
a. All players must wear tennis shoes or plastic / rubber cleats.
b. Metal cleats are NOT permitted.
c. Casts (hard or soft) are not permitted.
d. Players are not permitted to wear Jewelry.
e. Balls are supplied by the Intramural Department.
NOTE: Any equipment not covered in "a-d" will be determined
legal or illegal by the supervisor on duty.
2. Prior to Game
Time:
a. Players must check in with the supervisor on duty. IDs must be presented
at check-in.
b. Games are to start at the scheduled time. Game time is forfeit time!
3. The Game:
a. At the beginning of the game, the captain winning the coin toss has
the choice being home or visitors.
b. The game shall be played between two teams of 10 players each, 5 males
and 5 females. A team needs at least 8 players to start and end the game,
4 males and 4 females.
c. The game shall consist of 6 innings or 50 minutes, which ever comes
first.
d. After 3 outs occur, the offense and defense will switch positions.
4. Kicking
a. Every player on a team will kick, even if he/she is not playing in
the field.
b. The kicking order must alternate between male and female. If there
are not equal number of males and females, then the batting team will
receive an out when two kickers of the same sex are next to each other
in the line-up.
c. The kicker must wait for the ball to be within three (3) feet of home
plate before kicking the ball.
d. The kicker gets a total of two (2) tries to kick the ball. A missed
attempt and / or foul kick counts as a try.
e. After two (2) tries, the batter is out.
f. If the batter does not like the pitch, she/he should not attempt to
kick it.
g. There are NO walks
h. Bunting is not permitted.
5. Pitching
The pitcher must roll the ball over home plate as smoothly as possible
(without ball bouncing)
6. Outs
a. The kicker or a base runner will be out in situations similar to softball.
b. On force outs, the runner will be out if the ball makes it to base
before the runner does.
c. In situations other than a force out, the runner will be out if he/she
is hit BELOW THE WAIST by a thrown ball. If the runner is hit above the
waist with a thrown ball, they are NOT out.
d. If a defensive player catches a pop fly, the runner is out and all
base runners must return to the base they started at.
e. Leading off bases and stealing bases is NOT permitted.
f. There is NO infield fly rule.
g. Any player that intentionally throws or runs into another player trying
to cause bodily harm will be ejected from the game.
All disputes and questionable
behavior will be ruled upon by the supervisor on duty.
***The Intramural Office Reserves the right to put into effect any new
ruling regarding Intramural policies and unsportsmanlike conduct.
