Campus calls - Dial the last 4 digits of the phone number
you wish to call
Directory Assistance - Dial 9 + 1-800-FREE-411
Local calls - Dial 9 + the area code (601) + the seven digit
phone number
Toll free calls - Dial 9 + 1 + the toll free number. (Toll free numbers begin with 800, 888, 877, 866, 855)
Long distance calls (faculty and staff only) - Dial 8 + 1 + 10 digit phone number
International calls (faculty and staff only) - Dial 8 + 011 + country
code and the number
Collect Calls - Use a collect service such as AT&T (9 + 1-800-CALLATT)
Calling Card Calls - Follow the instructions on the back of the card
Call Forward: (This feature allows you to forward your phone to another
phone number. ) Dial *06, or lift the handset and press the FDA softkey.
Listen for the special tone. Enter number to which you wish forward your calls.
Listen for the confirmation tone. To deactivate: dial #06, or press the flashing FDA
softkey. Listen for the confirmation tone.
Call Pick-up: To answer calls for other parties in your pickup group,
lift the handset and press the PICK softkey.
Call Transfer: With the party you which to transfer on the line,
press the TRANSFER key. Dial the extension you wish to forward the caller to.
You may remain on the line to announce the caller, or hang up to send the call
through without an announcement.
If the person you called doess not answer,
press the Transfer button to bring the caller back to your line.
Three-way calling: With the first party
on the line, press the TRANSFER button.
Dial the extension you with to conference with. After the 2nd
party answers the line, press the CONF (conference) button, and a
3-way call will result.
Redial: Press REDIAL key to activate feature, and scroll back
through numbers that have been dialed until the desired number is displayed.
Press * to activate dialing.
DND (do not disturb): While Idle (on-hook), press the DND softkey.
Your calls will forward to your voicemail, and your phone will not ring.
To cancel, press the flashing DND softkey on the LCD display.
MIC: Press the Softkey below the MIC to activate or deactivate
the Microphone. The Mic LED will illuminate when Mic is on.
Voice Call: This feature allows you to make a voice announcement
to another caller on the Millsaps phone system. The called party will hear
the announcement on their speaker phone. They must have an NEC Dterm phone,
and may converse with you without lifing the handset by activating the MIC key.
Using your speaker or handset, dial desired station number, while the line is
ringing press the VOICE softkey under the LCD display, speak to called party.
Call Block: After receiving an annoying or harassing call, hang up.
Then pick up the receiver and dial *11. (You can block up to 5 phone numbers).
To cancel call block, pick up the receiver and press #11. The oldest resricted
number will be deleted first.
Speaker: To use your hands-free speaker, press the SPEAKER key.
You must also press the MIC softkey for callers to be able to hear you speaking.
Ringer Tone: The Dterm Series E phone has four kinds of ringer tones
that you can select. Press the FEATURE key, then 3. The LCD displays selected
tone number. The phone will ring the tone displayed.
Ring Volume: You can change the ring volume of your phone by
pressing the Up/down arrow key while a call is ringing to your phone.
LCD display: you can change the display of your LCD screen by
pressing the Up/down arrow key while the phone is idle.
Programmable Keys: There are several features that can be added
to the programmable (small, round) keys on your phone. Please use the
change form
to add/remove the following features.
