Here you'll find support and access related information. This ranges from username and password issues to what type of browser you can use. Keep in mind that as phases of the system are implemented, additional services will become available.
A username and password is not required for the "Search Course Catalog" section. Other services such as viewing grades or missing documents do require a username and password. Usernames should be entered in lower case. Passwords are case sensitive so be careful when entering or changing password information.
Students: Your Millsaps username and password for computer access is provided at orientation. If you do not recall your computer account information, visit the Help Desk in the Academic Complex room 105 between normal business hours with your Millsaps ID.
Future Students: Once you have submitted an application to Millsaps, a User ID and password will be created for Major Access use. In the bottom-right corner of the Major Access main page, click the "Account Information" tab, then click the "What's My User ID" link. Enter the required information to get your User ID. Your password will consist of your 4 digit birth year and the last 4 digits of your social security number. Example: 19891234
Future Students: If the system does not provide you with a User ID, your User ID and password have not yet been created. If this occurs, please contact the Office of Admissions at (601) 974-1050 or 800-352-1050. We strongly suggest after you log in sucessfully that you change your password.
Change your password on Major Access using the following guidelines:
In the bottom right section of the main page, click the "Account Information" link.
Click "Change Password".
The new password must be either 8 or 9 characters in length.
It must contain letters and at least one number but no special characters.
It is case sensitive so be careful when keying in the old and new password.
If you’re a current student, this also changes your Millsaps computer password.
If your password change on Major Access was successful, you'll be redirected to the main page. If it was not successful, you'll receive and error message with the appropriate details. Current students may also continue to change passwords in the computer labs.
Students: Major Access uses your existing Millsaps username and password. If your password change on Major Access was successful, you'll be redirected to the main page. If it was not successful, you'll receive and error message with the appropriate details.
If you cannot log in to Major Access or any campus system, you will need to bring your Millsaps ID to the Help Desk in the Academic Complex room 105 to have your password reset. Note: The "Search Course Catalog" area of Major Access does not require you to log in.

Yes. Major Access is viewable with Internet Explorer 6 and 7 for Windows machines and the latest versions of Firefox and Safari should work fine as well.
Yes. Java must be enabled in your web browser in order to view Major Access. See your browser's help file for enabling Java on your machine.
Yes. Major Access puts a session cookie on your desktop when you log into the system. The cookie is erased when you use the Log Off tab and then close your browser. See your browsers help file for accepting cookies on your machine.
