Millsaps student Alex Foust of Ackerman, has been named the 2016 Collegiate Bill Buckner Impact Award Recipient for the State of Mississippi. A junior at Millsaps, Foust has led the campus chapter of The Fellowship of Christian Athletes as president for the 2015-16 school year, led huddles in area high schools and served as a huddle leader for the FCA College Getaway Retreat. In addition to his service to FCA, Foust earned First-Team All Conference Honors as a defensive lineman. Moreover, he is an active leader in his local college ministry at Pinelake Church — leading groups, participating in international missions and leading worship.
“Alex is an incredibly gifted young man. From the football field, to the small group circle, he genuinely leads his peers toward Christ at every opportunity,” said Kiel Higginbotham, Central Mississippi FCA Area Representative.
Foust was recognized recently at the Bill Buckner FCA Luncheon alongside the student recipients at both the middle school and high school level. Students are chosen for their heavy involvement in FCA on their campus, as well as, committed to making disciples in their communities and churches. The award is named to honor Bill Buckner, longtime Mississippi FCA Director, and students who have the same spiritual characteristics that made Buckner impactful for the Kingdom of God - dignity, strength and humility.
